What Are Cyanobacteria and Why Should You Care?

UNH Cooperative Extension reported on the Cyanobacteria Monitoring Collaborative 2020 Mini-Conference, including how people involved in the NH Lakes Lay Monitoring Program are responding to the threat of cyanobacteria in their lakes.

For Muir, a retired biological scientist who serves as a volunteer monitor for Lake Winnipesaukee through the NH Lakes Lay Monitoring Program, seeing the bloom was eye-opening. In response, he joined together with fellow Wolfeboro residents to form a Cyanobacteria task force.
