The City of Worcester Lakes and Ponds Program has been expanding cyanobacteria monitoring in regional waterbodies since 2017, finding a volunteer-based approach to meet both the goals of the CMC and local education and outreach priorities. In this presentation, Worcester Department of Public Works and Parks Senior Environmental Analyst Jackie Burmeister describes the enabling factors for the creation of the Worcester Cyanobacteria Monitoring Collaborative and shares its successes over the past three years.
