bloomWatch app: latest updates on an approach to report cyanobacteria blooms – an online presentation given on March 23, 2021 by Shane Bradt by the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension.
Abstract
The bloomWatch app was developed by the Cyanobacteria Monitoring Collaborative to allow any interested person to document and report cyanobacteria blooms in lakes. The app, which is free and does not require any type of account, is designed to be fairly straightforward for anyone to use. When a bloom is sighted, bloomWatch leads the user through a few steps to take photos of the bloom and provide basic information about lake and weather conditions. Once these steps have been completed, the app lets the user submit the bloom sighting to the bloomWatch database and email the photo and details to anyone with whom they would like to share the report.
